Biology and CultureEdit
Though there were two different types of Ubese the only major difference between them was not in appearance but in their biology. The 'True' Ubese of Uba IV had, in order to survive, adapted to breath the harsh atmosphere of their ravaged home planet. Those of Ubertica did not have such a hard time as their distant cousins as the world they adapted to was one much closer to a type 1 atmosphere.
The 'True' Ubese were near human in appearance and had varying skin tones though they tended to be a pale white color. They had large eyes which on first glance almost seemed too large for their faces, but while they varied in color as well most of them were billiantly bright green or blue. Narrow facial structure and high cheekbones were another distinction of their race.
Ubese were generally secretive creatures who would not remove their helmet for just anyone. Only under certain circumstances or alone with family or very close friends would they show their faces. They preferred to speak their own language and often despised the use of Basic over their native tongue. They have nurtured a hatred for most of the galaxy for a long time due to the almost complete destruction of their home system. Though even that hatred paled in the one they nursed against the Jedi. They believed it was their fault that their system was destroyed as they were suppose to be the protectors of the galaxy but did nothing to stop what happened to them.
These aggressive tendencies led them into work from things such as mercenaries to slavers to bounty hunters, professions that allowed them to dispense their anger and hatred without retribution. Yet, despite all of that they were remarkably loyal to each other, aside from the blood feud between 'True' Ubese and the 'Yrak Pootzck' Ubese. If the two ever met the True Ubese would stop at nothing from killing the other on sight for what they see as a great betrayal, simply by having escaped Uba IV.
Survival: “True Ubese” get a +2D bonus to their survival skill due to the harsh conditions they are forced to endure on their homeworld.
Type II Atmosphere Breathing: “True Ubese” require adjusted breath masks to filter and breath Type I atmospheres. Without the masks, Ubese suffer a -1D penalty to all skills and attributes.
Technical Aptitude: At the time of character creation only, “true Ubese” characters receive 2D for every 1D they place in Technical skills.
Soft Spoken: Due to the evolution of their vocal cords, the Ubese are very soft spoken and rely upon their vocoder to amplify their words. They also use silent language, Ubeninal, using just their hands to signal to the others of their kind, be it in battle or amongst a family gathering with their helmets and vocoders off.
