Biology and CultureEdit

Omwati were lithe Near Humans who had a very frail build and featherlike hair. Omwati skin was a bluish color, and their eyes were generally blue or black. The size of an adult Omwati bordered that of a Human, although their morphology was typically more slender, especially amongst female Omwati, who were generally 1.4 to 1.6 meters in height. It was rare to find an Omwati with a stout physiology. Their most striking characteristic was their "hair", which appeared to be made of small, diaphanous feathers of an iridescent color. Omwati did not have any other bodily hair, aside from the feathery threads that made up their eyebrows and lashes. This sparkling, gossamer-like substance occurred natuarally in colours from red-blonde to pearl white, and most commonly iridescent. Some Omwati took to dying their 'hair' in vibrant and wild shades due to their hair being so pale as to appear transparent.

They had delicate facial features, which were usually small, elfin or bird-like, which gave them an exotic attractiveness without sacrificing their human-like appearance. Many adult Omwati still had a youthful glint to their appearance, making it hard to determine a member's age just based upon appearance, though the eyes betrayed them. These eyes are proportionally large, granting them excellent vision. The most common eye colour is blue, which ranges in all its varied shades, from pale blue to indigo. Their voices were high with flute-like notes that sounded somewhat musical.

As a people, Omwati were known for their brilliant minds and natural talents for science, engineering and music. As younglings they had absorptive minds that could be strengthened and expanded beyond the limits of most other sentient species, if properly trained; if not properly coached, the younglings would never reach their full potential. Additionally, if a young mind was under too much pressure, it would collapse easily, thus retarding the development or worse, losing the potential. As a species, they were biologically mature at eighteen standard years and had a life span of about eighty-five years.

Culturally, the Omwati held friends in high regard and importance, second only to family. They had a sense of pride when reviewing past lessons for their younglings, who were adept at memorising facts. Culturally, due to the importance of techonology, many of the Omwati had advanced understanding of computers.
