Biology and CultureEdit
The Gorvans stood on average 2.6 - 3 meters in height. Their fur varied in colour from a golden blonde to reddish-tan, and the males sported manes upon reaching puberty. As the ruling Horansi caste, each House or Pride's duty was to the care of its peoples and its lands. The Nkosi (lord) oversaw the protection of his fief, as well as the upholding of laws and the expenditure of justice, and his Mbwana (2nd in command) was there to assist him as his right hand. There were also a handful of trusted Gambas (warriors) who were bodyguards to the Nkosi and his family, as well as commanders of the fief's Kasa warriors. Female Gorvan were not only respected for their ability to give birth, but also their talents in tending to the house, the fief, and trade. The wives of the Nkosi were responsable not only for the care of the house-hold and its larder, but the stores of food-stuffs and other necessities of the fief, as well as trade with other fiefs and off-worlders.
After the Mutanda Crisis many of the traditions of the Gorvan caste changed due to the extinction of the adult population. For the first time, a female Gorvan Horansi was not only in charge of a fief, but also the entire planet and oversaw its trade with other Galactic Governments. During the dissolution of the Systems Confederation, the Grand Nkosi funneled funds from her former position and set up Mutanda as a planetary kingdom and became a protectorate of the CSA
Intimidating Roar: When a Gorvan Horansi is angry or about to fight, they issue a challenging roar or battle cry. When they do this, they gain half of their strength dice as bonus (i.e. 2D-3D+2 Strength=1D bonus, 4D-5D+2 Strength=2D bonus and 6D Strength=3D bonus).
Claws: Claws deal an additional 1D+2 damage when used in combat.
Thick Tail: While a Gorvan's tail isn't perhensile, it is a formidable club and tripping weapon. The tail can be used in combat at a 2D penalty to brawling and deals strength + 0D+2 bludgoning damage.
