The Independent Governments of the Galaxy come in vast territories or singular planets, individually capable of wielding power, be it economic, subterfuge or might to keep their self-governing ways. Each government is free to make and break in character alliances, indulge in political intrigue and expand as resources allow. They are also viable targets for the Empire and Galactic Alliance to court or coerce into joining their mightiness.
